Building Rectification
Spalling Concrete (also known as Concrete Cancer)
Concrete cancer can affect any building in which reinforced concrete
is used. This includes floor slabs, stairs, balconies, walls, columns,
beams and pathways. Essentially, the steel responsible for reinforcement
has begun to rust. Early treatment of spalling concrete will reduce
the extent of the damage and be less expensive to repair.
Repairing this involves: Removal of the spalled concrete and concrete
adjacent to the rusted reinforcement, cleaning and treatment or replacement
of the rust affected steel. The application of suitable repair materials
and reforming the area to the original concrete profile using cement
mortar, epoxy mortar or concrete depending on the size of the repair
and structural requirements.
Cracks In Concrete
Repairing cracks in concrete using suitable epoxies, special mortars
and injection techniques.
